European Lithium is advancing its strategic objectives on two distinct fronts simultaneously. Recent developments in both its flagship Austrian operation and its significant investment in a Greenland-focused entity are creating substantial value for shareholders through complementary pathways.

Regulatory Breakthrough for Austrian Lithium Project

A significant regulatory milestone has been achieved at the Wolfsberg lithium project in Austria. A governmental decree has exempted the venture from certain extensive environmental permitting processes, effectively accelerating its transition from the exploration phase to active production. This crucial clarity from legislators provides the foundation for the upcoming financing round and a final investment decision, which company leadership aims to secure before the end of the current year.

The project's mining license had already been extended through to the end of 2027 in February 2026. With Wolfsberg being one of the few permitted hard-rock lithium deposits in Europe, its progress aligns directly with the European Union's Critical Raw Materials Act, which targets sourcing 10% of the bloc's lithium domestically by 2030.

Strategic Stake in Greenland Venture Appreciates

Concurrently, the value of European Lithium's major strategic holding is being bolstered by expansion. On March 23, 2026, Critical Metals Corp—a company in which European Lithium is the largest shareholder—signed a binding agreement to acquire a majority stake in 60° North Greenland ApS. This firm specializes in construction, exploration, and logistics within Greenland and is positioned to advance the development of the Tanbreez rare earths project in southern Greenland, an asset already controlled by Critical Metals Corp.

European Lithium's substantial stake of approximately 45.5 million shares in the Nasdaq-listed Critical Metals Corp is a cornerstone of its valuation. At recent market prices, this holding was estimated to be worth close to 985 million Australian dollars—a figure that notably exceeds European Lithium's own market capitalization.

Strong Cash Position Supports Strategic Patience

The company's balance sheet remains robust, providing operational flexibility. European Lithium currently holds roughly 356 million Australian dollars in cash. The majority of this liquidity was generated through a partial divestment of Critical Metals Corp shares earlier this year, which yielded proceeds of about 124 million Australian dollars.

Management has indicated that further sales of its remaining stake are not planned for at least the next four months. This deliberate approach is intended to preserve the company's strategic influence over the Tanbreez project and other collaborative ventures with Critical Metals Corp.

By combining the potential of its wholly-owned European lithium asset with its indirect exposure to rare earths exploration in Greenland, European Lithium is establishing a unique position within the critical minerals supply chain that European policymakers are actively seeking to secure.
