Financial Backing Takes Center Stage

Alongside the technical planning, the process of securing debt financing is advancing. Negotiations are reportedly at an advanced stage for a facility of up to $105 million, which is being arranged by KfW IPEX-Bank. This potential loan is backed by a guarantee from the German federal government. The coming weeks are expected to clarify whether this arrangement with KfW IPEX-Bank will be finalized as planned.

For EcoGraf's equity, the overall picture remains unchanged. The project appears robust on paper and its funding structure is gradually taking shape. However, the actual commencement of production is contingent upon the successful closure of this financing round.

Project Economics and Timeline

The economic framework for Epanko, located in Tanzania, continues to be based on the comprehensive feasibility study from late February 2026. The pre-tax net present value (NPV) stands at $516 million, with an internal rate of return (IRR) of 31.1%. These figures remain fully intact.

The operation is designed with a mine life of 22 years. During the initial 15-year period, annual production is slated for 73,000 tonnes of graphite. The project's ore reserve is comprised of 43% measured and 57% indicated resources, forming the foundation for this long-term plan.
