Deutsche Telekom shares are holding firm above €31, reflecting investor confidence as the telecoms giant executes a dual strategy of revenue optimization and technological modernization. The stock, trading at €31.31, remains comfortably within the upper third of its 52-week range, supported by solid fundamentals from the 2025 fiscal year.

On the operational front, the company is actively reshaping its customer base. Since April 1, 2026, Deutsche Telekom has increased monthly base fees by €2 for legacy fixed-line contracts, specifically older MagentaZuhause and Call & Surf tariffs established before April 2023. The company cites rising network operation and service costs, which it had previously absorbed. Affected customers who reject the new terms have a three-month special right of termination after receiving notification; otherwise, contracts automatically continue under the adjusted conditions.

Simultaneously, the fee for paid MultiSIMs has risen from €4.95 to €6.95 per month for both new and existing customers. Households using multiple lines could see their monthly bills increase by up to €14. Notably, these price adjustments do not apply to fiber-optic customers, creating a clear incentive for users to migrate to the company's more modern infrastructure.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Deutsche Telekom?

This push for technological efficiency is mirrored in the consumer entertainment segment. Deutsche Telekom is gradually migrating existing customers to its new MagentaTV 2.0 platform. This cloud-based system offers a customizable start screen and UHD 4K support but requires a clean break from older hardware. Legacy receiver models are being phased out, and users' local hard drive recordings will be deleted. This unified cloud architecture is expected to lower long-term maintenance costs for the company.

For its business clients, Deutsche Telekom is expanding reach through the skies. The recently launched "Managed Starlink Enterprise Service" uses low-earth orbit satellites to provide internet speeds of up to 400 Mbit/s to corporate locations in areas with insufficient fiber or mobile coverage. As the sole German network operator offering this as a fully managed service, the company is targeting underserved regions and businesses with high demands for reliability.

Financially, the company's performance provides a sturdy foundation. The adjusted group net profit for 2025 rose 3.7% to €9.7 billion. Shareholders have already benefited from an increased dividend, with a payout of €1.00 per share distributed on April 8—an 11% increase from the previous year's €0.90. The stock currently trades around €31.22, approximately 8.85% below its 52-week high of €34.25.

Looking ahead, management targets an adjusted EBITDA of around €47.4 billion and a free cash flow of approximately €19.8 billion for the full 2026 year. For the current period, the goal is to grow adjusted earnings per share to about €2.20. The next significant milestone for investors is May 13, 2026, when Deutsche Telekom releases its first-quarter 2026 results. This report will offer the first concrete data on whether the recent price adjustments are translating into measurable revenue growth and how the ongoing infrastructure investments are performing.
