Da Nang Worker Month Sees 3,100 New Union Members and 8 Billion VND in Cooperative Funding

Union rolls in the Vietnamese city of Da Nang swelled by 3,119 people during this year’s “Month of the Worker 2026,” according to the local labor federation. The campaign also created 49 new grassroots unions, marking what officials described as a significant step in organizing the city’s workforce.
The membership drive was paired with a broad slate of cultural and sporting events. More than 2,400 athletes from 115 teams competed in the city’s Worker Sports Festival. Across the month, over 360 sports contests and numerous cultural activities drew a total of 20,000 participants.
A separate blood donation drive organized by the Da Nang Federation of Labor collected 742 units for regional healthcare.

Foxlink Conference Opens Digital Transformation Drive
At Foxlink Electronics’ DN2 plant in Da Nang, over 100 delegates attended a worker conference on Sunday. The union there launched a new initiative aimed at using digital tools and innovation to raise productivity. Company management and employee representatives jointly stressed the need to embed technological upgrades directly into production workflows to secure the factory’s long-term competitiveness.
Teambuilding activities also ramped up. The union at Quyet Thang General Trading Joint Stock Company took workers on a multi-day excursion to Da Nang and Hoi An last Saturday.
Legal Seminars Explain New Social Insurance Rules
Educating workers about recent legal changes was another priority. A specialist conference was held Friday in Ha Tinh for employees of Nam Ha Tinh Seafood Import-Export Joint Stock Company. Experts from the local labor office and social insurance agency briefed attendees on amendments to the Social Insurance Law 2024, which took effect July 1, 2025. The sessions covered updates to unemployment insurance and long-term retirement provisions.
Similar meetings the same day in Vinh Yen focused on occupational safety and health insurance.

Cooperative Fund Disbursements and High Wages
The Da Nang Cooperative Alliance announced Friday that nearly 8 billion Vietnamese dong had been disbursed from the city’s cooperative development fund by the end of May. The capital is intended to support business operations among the region’s 777 active cooperatives.
In the private sector, Safoco Foodstuff Joint Stock Company reported that its more than 600 employees earn an average monthly income of 21.75 million VND. In addition to standard social insurance contributions, the company provides tiered bonus payments equaling two to five months’ salary as a 13th-month wage – a move designed to encourage long-term tenure.
