Coca-Cola Shares Reach Unprecedented Highs on Strong Fundamentals

24.02.2026 - 15:32:57 | boerse-global.de

Coca-Cola stock reaches new high, driven by 64 years of dividend growth, a CEO transition to Henrique Braun, and resilient earnings. Analysts raise price targets.

The Coca-Cola Company continues its impressive run in the equity markets, consistently setting new all-time highs. Recently, its stock price ascended to $80.43 per share. This sustained rally, which has seen the beverage titan appreciate over 16% since the start of the year, is underpinned by a powerful trifecta: a decades-long dividend growth story, an imminent leadership transition, and resilient quarterly earnings.

Leadership Transition Set for Spring

A change at the helm is scheduled for late March. Henrique Braun, the company's current Chief Operating Officer, will step into the role of Chief Executive Officer. He succeeds James Quincey, who will transition to the position of Executive Chairman. In remarks made during the Q4 2025 analyst conference, Braun outlined strategic priorities including accelerated product launches, enhanced point-of-sale marketing integration, and a continued push to digitize distribution networks.

A Dividend Dynasty: 64 Years and Counting

Coca-Cola's board of directors recently approved an increase in the quarterly cash dividend, reinforcing its legendary status among income-focused investors. The payout was raised by approximately 4%, from $0.51 to $0.53 per share. This brings the annualized dividend to $2.12 per share. Shareholders of record as of March 13 will receive the first payment at this new rate on April 1.

This marks the 64th consecutive year of dividend increases, solidifying Coca-Cola's position as a so-called "Dividend King." In fiscal 2025, the company distributed $8.8 billion to shareholders via dividends while simultaneously executing an ongoing share repurchase program.

Quarterly Results: Earnings Beat Amid Revenue Miss

The company's financial report for the fourth quarter of 2025 presented a mixed picture. Earnings per share came in at $0.58, slightly exceeding analyst consensus estimates of $0.56. However, for the first time in five years, Coca-Cola's revenue fell short of Wall Street's projections.

Looking ahead to 2026, management has provided guidance targeting organic revenue growth of 4% to 5%. Adjusted earnings per share are forecast to rise between 7% and 8%. Capital expenditures for the year are planned at approximately $2.2 billion.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Coca-Cola?

This outlook was met with positive reactions from several research firms. UBS raised its price target from $82 to $87, TD Cowen increased its target from $80 to $85, and Bank of America lifted its target from $85 to $88.

Navigating a Competitive and Price-Sensitive Landscape

The company operates in a challenging consumer environment. Between 2020 and 2025, the average price of soft drinks in the United States nearly doubled. During this same period, Coca-Cola's operating margin expanded significantly from 24% to 32%. Yet, volume growth has stalled, and competitor PepsiCo has announced price reductions of around 15% on some products.

In response, Coca-Cola is employing a dual strategy. It is focusing on premium brands, such as its Fairlife milk line, while also offering smaller, more affordable package sizes. The effectiveness of this approach in defending both market volume and profitability in a cost-conscious climate will be tested in upcoming quarters. A key challenge for the new CEO will be balancing robust shareholder returns with necessary investments in innovation and product portfolio diversification.
