Despite a series of significant technical and ecosystem advancements, Cardano's native token ADA continues to trade near its lowest levels in a year. The disconnect between robust development activity and weak market performance highlights the asset's current struggle against broader macroeconomic headwinds.

Ecosystem Expansion Amid Market Pressure

Recent weeks have seen substantial growth for the Cardano ecosystem. On March 29, 2026, the privacy-focused Midnight network launched its mainnet, with initial validators including Google Cloud and Worldpay. Monument Bank has announced plans for tokenized deposits on the sidechain. Furthermore, on March 31, Interactive Brokers listed ADA for its European retail clients, marking a step toward greater institutional accessibility.

This upgrade aims to shift from sequential to parallel block processing, potentially enabling up to 1,000 transactions per second.
