The partnership focuses on creating specialized System-on-Chips (SoCs) for the utility industry. These chips will enable smart meters for electricity, water, and gas to perform real-time analytics at the source, eliminating constant reliance on cloud connectivity. A primary driver for this integration is radical power consumption optimization.

BrainChip's technology promises to extend the operational battery life within these devices to a remarkable eight years. Furthermore, it could potentially reduce the number of required battery cells by half.
