Bechtle's Pivotal Moment: Annual Report to Set Course for Struggling Shares
12.03.2026 - 05:27:10 | boerse-global.de
All eyes are on March 20th at Bechtle. The IT services provider is scheduled to release its audited annual results for 2025 and, for the first time, will issue its official guidance for the coming year. This event could prove decisive for the company's equity, which has shed approximately 26% of its value since the start of the year and is trading near its 52-week low.
A Strong Finish Amid Ongoing Headwinds
Preliminary figures for the full year 2025 present a nuanced performance. While business volume expanded by roughly eight percent to just under €8.6 billion, revenue saw a more modest increase of about two percent, reaching €6.4 billion. A significant bright spot emerged in the final quarter, where the pre-tax result surged by more than 20% year-over-year to exceed €121 million.
Despite this strong quarterly finish, the overall period was characterized by a challenging market environment. Growth was notably hampered by delayed budget approvals in the public sector—a persistent issue expected to remain relevant through 2026.
CEO Thomas Olemotz has already cautioned about potential pressures. He cited possible manufacturer price hikes and looming supply bottlenecks as factors that could weigh on the current business year. In response, UBS analyst Christopher Tong revised his earnings estimates for 2026 and 2027 downward, pointing to elevated memory chip prices as a headwind to recovery. Consequently, he lowered his price target from €50.50 to €47.50, though he maintained a 'Buy' recommendation on the stock.
Strategic Moves and Management Transition
Beyond the financials, Bechtle continues to execute its growth strategy. Early in January, the company bolstered its European footprint in Product-Lifecycle-Management (PLM) services by acquiring the Hungarian specialist EuroSolid. This move extends Bechtle's PLM network to nine countries. EuroSolid recently reported annual revenue of €3.5 million and employs a team of 31.

The group is also managing a leadership transition. Simone Blome-Schwitzki, formerly with Also Holding AG, joined the management board of the Bonn IT system house on March 1st. Her appointment prepares for the planned retirement of Waldemar Zgrzebski at the end of 2026, ensuring an orderly handover for one of the larger corporate units, which employs around 780 people.
Guidance Holds the Key
Expectations are now elevated following the robust fourth-quarter performance. The official outlook for 2026, to be detailed on March 20th, is likely to be the primary market catalyst. Should management issue a cautious forecast, selling pressure on the shares could persist. Conversely, a confident and convincing outlook may help the stock recover some of its significant discount to the 200-day moving average, which stands near €38.90. Until then, the equity remains in a holding pattern.
