Exploration company Aventis Energy is on the verge of initiating its maiden drilling program in more than forty years at the Corvo uranium project in Saskatchewan. Preparatory work has concluded, setting the stage for a campaign with significant expectations. The company is targeting shallow objectives where historical rock samples have returned notable uranium grades as high as 8.1 percent.

The upcoming program is fully financed through a three-year option agreement with Standard Uranium. To earn a 75 percent interest in the project rights, Aventis must invest a total of six million Canadian dollars in exploration activities. The planned drilling fulfills the company’s financial commitments for the initial year of this agreement.

Strategically positioned in a region known for its uranium potential within the eastern Athabasca Basin, the Corvo property lies approximately 60 kilometers east of Cameco's McArthur River mine and about 45 kilometers northeast of Atha Energy's Gemini mineralization zone.

Geophysical Data Guides Target Selection

A comprehensive gravity survey conducted by MWH Geo-Surveys was finalized by the Canadian explorer in mid-January 2026. This work, comprising over 5,000 measurement points on a 50-by-200-meter grid, identified more than 29 kilometers of electromagnetic conductivity zones. The collected data is designed to pinpoint density anomalies that may indicate hydrothermal alteration—a potential sign of uranium-bearing structures.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Aventis Energy?

This geophysical information has become the foundation for detailed drill hole planning. Mobilization to the field is now scheduled for early February, ahead of the original timeline.

Drill Program Details and High-Priority Target

The diamond drilling campaign is planned for 2,500 to 3,000 meters across eight to ten holes. A primary focus will be the Manhattan Showing area along the northern electromagnetic corridor. Surface samples taken historically at this location assayed up to 8.1 percent U3O8, a promising indicator for near-surface mineralization.

Planned drill depths range from 200 to 300 meters below surface. Aventis is following an exploration model similar to the Rabbit Lake deposit, targeting shallow, high-grade uranium occurrences within the basement rock.

Initial Results Anticipated Soon

With field mobilization beginning in early February, Aventis expects to extract and dispatch initial core samples for assay by March or April. These results will be critical in determining whether the high-grade historical surface findings continue at depth and if the identified geophysical anomalies correspond to economically significant uranium mineralization.
