Arrow Exploration Shifts Focus to High-Potential Icaco Drilling Campaign
07.04.2026 - 01:25:27 | boerse-global.de
Arrow Exploration is pivoting its operational strategy within Colombia's Llanos Basin. Having concluded its most recent development phase, the company is now directing its attention toward exploration targets with greater resource potential. Market participants are particularly looking ahead to the second quarter of 2026, when new drilling operations are slated to commence.
Strong Financial Foundation Supports Strategy
This strategic shift is underpinned by a robust financial position. The company operates with zero debt and holds approximately $13 million in liquid cash reserves. This financial health means the upcoming drilling program is fully funded without the need for external capital.
Further financial flexibility was secured through the mutually agreed termination of the COR-39 contract with Colombian authorities. The move relieves Arrow of a $12 million drilling obligation, granting management increased agility. These funds can now be strategically redirected into the more promising Tapir Block.

Operational Momentum and Market Reaction
Current operations continue to generate a steady revenue stream. Arrow is producing roughly 5,475 barrels of oil equivalent per day. An additional production boost is anticipated from the imminent start-up of the M-HZ12 horizontal well.
The market has responded positively to this outlook. Shares surged nearly 12% in today's trading to reach 0.47 CAD, establishing a new 52-week high. Since the beginning of the year, the stock has recorded an impressive gain of approximately 80%.
Upcoming Catalysts and Long-Term Planning
The centerpiece of the new operational phase is the relocation of a drilling rig to the Icaco Pad. While previous efforts largely developed existing finds in the Mateguafa field, the Icaco well—scheduled for May—will test new geological structures. A successful outcome here could materially enhance the company's reserve base.
Attention now remains focused on ongoing negotiations to secure a license extension for the Tapir Block, a critical factor for ensuring long-term operational certainty in Colombia. This development, alongside the planned Icaco drilling, marks the next step in Arrow Exploration's expansion strategy.
