In a move designed to ensure strategic continuity, Armour Residential REIT has proactively extended its contract with its external manager well into the next decade. This decision provides the mortgage-focused real estate investment trust with enhanced operational certainty as it navigates a persistently unpredictable interest rate environment.
Dividend Declaration and REIT Obligations
Coinciding with this long-term planning, the company’s board confirmed the continuation of its monthly dividend distribution. Shareholders will receive a payment of $0.24 per common share for April 2026. As a Real Estate Investment Trust, Armour Residential is required to distribute the majority of its taxable income to investors to maintain its favorable tax status, making consistent dividends a cornerstone of its structure.
A Decade-Long Management Commitment
The trust’s partnership with Armour Capital Management LP will now remain in effect until March 31, 2033. The agreement was originally scheduled to conclude at the end of 2029. By adding more than three years to the term, the REIT secures the ongoing expertise of its current management team in handling agency-guaranteed mortgage-backed securities. All other contractual terms remain unchanged by this extension.
