Antimony Resources Pushes Canadian Mine Project into High Gear
11.04.2026 - 06:12:27 | boerse-global.deThe race to secure a domestic supply of critical minerals in North America is intensifying, and Antimony Resources is accelerating its flagship project to meet that demand. The company has formally initiated the permitting process for its Bald Hill antimony project in New Brunswick, marking a pivotal shift from explorer to developer.
This strategic move is underscored by a concurrent drilling campaign that continues to deliver promising results. To date, 6,500 meters of a planned 10,000-meter program have been completed. Recent exploration has not only focused on the main zone but has also identified significant potential in the southern "Central Zone," where historical data indicates a notable antimony mineralization of 2.8 percent over an eight-meter width. Furthermore, geologists have discovered massive stibnite in the newly identified Marcus Zone to the west, mirroring the high-grade characteristics of the primary deposit and suggesting a potential expansion of the overall resource.
Driving this rapid development is a compelling market dynamic. Antimony is an essential component for flame retardants, military hardware, and next-generation batteries. Western defense contractors and solar manufacturers are actively seeking alternatives to Chinese supply, creating a strategic opening. The Bald Hill project, with a potential resource of 2.7 million tonnes of ore and grades between three and four percent, is positioning itself as a key future source outside of Asia.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Antimony Resources?
To navigate the regulatory landscape, Antimony Resources has engaged the environmental and engineering consultancy GEMTEC. The firm is developing a detailed blueprint for all required provincial and federal permits. Initial consultations with the New Brunswick government's Technical Review Committee and local authorities are already underway, an early engagement strategy designed to streamline the overall timeline.
Fieldwork and bureaucracy are proceeding in tandem. The foundational environmental studies, a prerequisite for the formal environmental impact assessment, are set to commence this spring. The outcome of this initial phase will determine whether the project requires a provincial review or a more comprehensive federal-level evaluation.
Financially, the company is equipped for this development stage, having secured approximately CAD $8.7 million in a financing round closed in late 2025. These funds ensure the completion of the current drilling program. Once all assay data is compiled, the consultancy SRK Consulting will prepare a resource estimate compliant with international reporting standards. Antimony Resources targets the publication of its first official resource statement for late 2026 or early 2027, a key milestone on the path to production.
