The clock is ticking for North America’s antimony supply chain. With China’s temporary suspension of export restrictions on strategic metals set to expire on November 27, 2026, Antimony Resources is racing to prove that its Bald Hill project in New Brunswick can offer a domestic alternative. The company has just wrapped up a 25,000-metre drilling campaign — the final metres were completed on April 28 — and is now awaiting a formal resource estimate from SRK Consultants, expected in early May.

That report will be the first of its kind for the project, and internal models are targeting roughly 2.7 million tonnes of ore with an antimony grade between 3% and 4%. If those numbers hold, Bald Hill could become a critical piece of the puzzle for a US defence sector that has not produced its own antimony since 2001 and still relies on China for 63% of its supply.

New Anomalies Extend the Known Footprint

While the company prepares for that milestone, exploration work continues to expand the project’s potential. On Thursday, Antimony Resources reported promising soil samples from areas south of the main zone, revealing new stibnite anomalies that lie outside previously tested ground. Management is keen to demonstrate that the mineralisation extends well beyond the currently defined 700-metre strike length.

These findings come ahead of a fully funded 11,000-metre drilling programme scheduled to begin in May. That campaign will target the southern anomalies as well as the Marcus and Central peripheral zones. Geologists are also still processing data from the recently completed drilling phase, with final assay results expected shortly.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Antimony Resources?

Strong Holes and Early Permitting

One recent drill result underscores the deposit’s potential. A deep hole in the northern part of the main zone returned 4.38% antimony over roughly seven metres, with mineralisation remaining open in multiple directions — leaving room for future expansion.

On the permitting front, CEO Jim Atkinson is taking a proactive approach. Initial discussions with the provincial government of New Brunswick are already underway, and environmental studies are set to begin this spring. By engaging early with regulators and First Nations, the company hopes to shorten what can often be a lengthy approval process. The balance sheet supports that effort: a December capital raise brought in nearly C$9 million.

A Geopolitical Tailwind

The broader market backdrop adds urgency. Antimony prices have been volatile, spiking as high as US$60,000 per tonne at one point before China’s temporary export relaxation pulled them back to roughly US$34,800. That level still sits well above the historical average, and the clock is running. Once the November 2026 deadline passes, fresh supply constraints could return.

Antimony Resources at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.

GBC analysts see the strategic positioning as a strong argument for the stock. They rate Antimony Resources a “Buy” with a price target of €1.90 — nearly triple the current share price of €0.66 — citing recently reported drill cores with exceptionally high antimony grades.

For Antimony Resources, May will be the defining month. The resource estimate must show whether Bald Hill can deliver the tonnages needed to become a credible North American alternative. If it does, the company will be well positioned to capitalise on the looming supply gap.
