Antimony Resources Lays Groundwork at Bald Hill as US Throws Billions Behind Domestic Antimony Supply

Antimony Resources pursues dual-track strategy of permitting and drilling at Bald Hill as US Export-Import Bank approves $2.9B loan for Perpetua Resources' Stibnite project, signaling strong political support for domestic antimony supply.

The narrative around Antimony Resources is shifting on two fronts. While the company continues to drill at its Bald Hill project in New Brunswick, it is now laying the regulatory tracks needed to turn geological promise into a permitted mine. That dual-track strategy has taken on extra significance after the U.S. government signalled it is willing to commit serious money to secure domestic antimony supply.

The Export-Import Bank of the United States approved a $2.9 billion loan on Thursday for the Stibnite gold-antimony project in Idaho, operated by Perpetua Resources. The decision does not directly benefit Antimony Resources, but the political tailwind is unmistakable. Antimony is classified as a critical mineral in the U.S., vital for products from lead-acid batteries to flame retardants, and the country remains heavily reliant on imports. The EXIM credit sends a clear message: Washington is prepared to deploy billions to shore up domestic supply chains.

For Antimony Resources, the immediate task is to show it can turn that favourable backdrop into tangible progress at Bald Hill. The company has engaged GEMTEC Consulting Engineers and Scientists of Fredericton to develop a comprehensive permitting roadmap. That roadmap will identify which regulations apply, which authorities have jurisdiction, what documentation will be required, and the likely timeline for approvals. The shift in focus moves the investment case beyond pure exploration risk – the stock’s performance will increasingly hinge on execution and regulatory discipline.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Antimony Resources?

GEMTEC has already contacted the two main oversight bodies for metal mining in New Brunswick and held discussions with members of the technical review committee to prepare the ground. Antimony Resources has also held talks with provincial and federal government officials, the local municipal council, and the Department of Indigenous Affairs regarding First Nations with interests in the project area. Desktop analyses are underway to flag environmental and permitting issues early, and GEMTEC is scheduled to begin ecological baseline surveys in the Bald Hill area from spring 2026.

Exploration, meanwhile, remains a central pillar. A field program planned for the second and third quarters of 2026 includes 13,000 metres of expansion drilling in the Main Zone, plus a further 6,000 metres of preliminary exploration drilling across three newly discovered mineralised zones – Marcus, BH Central and BH South. These zones could widen the project’s resource base. Since April 2025, Antimony Resources has already sunk over 25,000 metres across 77 drill holes, with more than 1,500 core samples sent to the lab. The 2026 work program also encompasses 3-D modelling, metallurgical studies, and a technical gap analysis by SRK.

The company is targeting submission of a formal permit application in the fourth quarter of 2026 or the first quarter of 2027. That timeline, combined with continued drilling, will serve as the next concrete checkpoint for investors. Technical uncertainty remains – the potential size and grade of the Bald Hill deposit is still only a conceptual estimate, and the work needed to confirm it as a mineral resource has not been completed.

The EXIM decision, however, has raised the stakes for the entire antimony sector. For Antimony Resources, the question is whether it can convert political attention into a proven resource and a transparent pathway to production. Bald Hill will no longer be judged on antimony grades alone, but on execution, regulatory progress, and project discipline.
