The exploration narrative at Bald Hill just got a lot more concrete. Antimony Resources has delivered a set of assay results that underline the project’s high-grade potential, while the market’s reaction signals just how hungry investors are for domestic antimony supply. Shares surged 21% to C$0.98 on the Canadian Securities Exchange, pushing the company’s market capitalisation to roughly C$87.3 million. Over on the OTCQB, the stock gained 11.3% to US$0.6790.

The standout intercept came from hole BH-26-10, which returned 26.7% antimony over 0.45 metres — a narrow but spectacularly rich slice that reinforces the deposit’s quality. The same hole also cut 6.42% antimony over 0.3 metres. More importantly for the resource picture, it intersected a broader mineralised zone of 14.15 metres grading 1.37% antimony at depths exceeding 350 metres. The company’s drilling has now extended known mineralisation in the Main Zone down to 495 metres, with management pointing to the deep potential of the system.

Additional holes added to the evidence base: BH-26-01 delivered 2.26% antimony over 2.0 metres, BH-26-04 hit 3.13% over 1.75 metres, and BH-26-08 returned 14.7 metres at 0.14%. The reported lengths represent approximately two-thirds of true thickness, according to the company.

All this activity is feeding into a much bigger milestone. Independent consultant SRK is currently poring over data from more than 1,500 drill cores to produce the first certified NI-43-101 resource estimate for Bald Hill, expected in May. A conceptual exploration target had already pegged a potential 2.7 million tonnes grading between 3% and 4% antimony. The official report will determine how much of that moves from geological ambition to a measured and indicated resource.

Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Antimony Resources?

The company is not waiting around. A new 19,000-metre drill programme kicked off in the second week of May, deploying three rigs. Of that total, 13,000 metres are allocated to extension drilling in the Main Zone, while the remaining 6,000 metres target newly identified zones including Marcus, BH Central and BH South. The programme is fully funded, with GBC AG maintaining a buy rating and a C$3.00 target price, citing the company’s solid financial footing.

Geopolitical tailwinds add an extra layer of urgency. China has suspended its export restrictions on critical minerals to the US only through November 2026, leaving a narrow window for Western supply chains to diversify. The global antimony market has been in a structural deficit since 2022, a gap that has been further widened by surging demand from the photovoltaic sector. The metal hit record prices of around US$59,750 per tonne in mid-2025.

Meanwhile, the regulatory environment in New Brunswick is shifting in Antimony Resources’ favour. On 13 May the provincial government announced plans to replace the Mining Act of 1985 with a modernised framework designed to speed up permitting for critical mineral projects. That change could materially accelerate timelines at Bald Hill, given antimony’s strategic classification and the proximity of the former Lake George mine.

Antimony Resources at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.

Management is already moving on two fronts. Preliminary discussions with the New Brunswick government are under way, with a formal permit application targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026. At the same time, the company is preparing advance offtake agreements for future antimony sales. Once the SRK resource estimate lands — assuming it confirms the conceptual numbers — the conversation at Bald Hill will shift squarely from exploration to development, bringing a potential construction decision into clearer focus.
