Antimony Resources Faces a Defining Window as Bald Hill Data Points to Expansion

The antimony market has undergone a dramatic repricing over the past 18 months, with the metal's cost quadrupling from roughly $15,000 per tonne in early 2024 to more than $60,000 today. Behind that surge lies a familiar geopolitical story: China, which controls nearly three-quarters of global antimony refining capacity, imposed export restrictions late last year and cut off certain military customers entirely. For Western defense and semiconductor supply chains, the squeeze has turned every non-Chinese antimony deposit into a potential strategic asset.
Antimony Resources Corp., a junior explorer focused on the Bald Hill project in New Brunswick, Canada, is now positioning itself as one of the few pure-play antimony developers outside China. Recent exploration results suggest the project may be larger than previously modeled, and the company is approaching two catalysts that could reshape its valuation.
Soil Anomalies Point Beyond the Main Zone
The company recently completed a soil sampling program on the Second Run Claim Block, located roughly three kilometers south of Bald Hill's main deposit. More than 550 samples were collected, and results showed antimony concentrations exceeding 450 parts per million across multiple zones — more than 40 times the regional background value. According to the company, the anomalies indicate a separate mineralized system that could significantly expand the project's footprint.
That finding comes on top of strong drill results from the main zone. The final hole of the recently completed definition program intersected 4.38% antimony over 7.05 meters, including a high-grade interval of 9.76% over 3.15 meters. Bald Hill's conceptual exploration target stands at roughly 2.7 million tonnes grading between 3% and 4% antimony — unusually high grades for a Western deposit and notably a primary antimony occurrence, not a byproduct of gold or silver mining.
Should investors sell immediately? Or is it worth buying Antimony Resources?
Drilling and Resource Estimate on the Horizon
The company is now preparing for its next major drilling campaign. Starting in mid-May, a fully funded 11,000-meter program will target newly identified mineralized zones outside the main deposit — specifically the Marcus, Central, and South zones. This will complement the more than 25,000 meters of definition drilling already completed on the Main Zone.
The second catalyst, and arguably the more consequential one, is the first-ever resource estimate for Bald Hill. Consulting firm SRK Consultants is conducting the assessment, with results expected in the coming weeks. GBC Research recently initiated coverage on the stock with a 12-month price target of CAD 3.00, noting that the current market capitalization of roughly CAD 106 million appears modest relative to the potential metal inventory.
A maiden resource estimate would provide the first rigorous foundation for valuing the project. If the numbers align with what the drill results have suggested, it could fundamentally shift the conversation around the company's fair value. The resource count will also be critical for any future production decision, though management has not yet indicated a timeline for that step.
Infrastructure and Metallurgy as Competitive Advantages
Beyond the grade and scale, Bald Hill benefits from what the company describes as favorable metallurgy and existing regional infrastructure. Those factors could help keep future capital requirements in check, a meaningful advantage for a junior explorer in a capital-intensive industry.
Antimony Resources at a turning point? This analysis reveals what investors need to know now.
The broader macro environment continues to work in the company's favor. With defense budgets rising across North America and Europe, and China tightening its grip on antimony supply, the strategic case for domestic sources of the metal has never been stronger. Antimony is used in armor-piercing ammunition, flame retardants, and semiconductors — applications that give it a dual-use status and make supply security a matter of national interest.
For now, all eyes are on the resource estimate and the upcoming drill results. Between them, they will determine whether Bald Hill can move from a promising exploration story to a defined asset with a clear path to development.
