Antimony Resources Advances Key Canadian Mining Project with Regulatory Blueprint

Antimony Resources has taken a definitive step toward developing its flagship asset. The company has formally engaged the consultancy firm GEMTEC Consulting Engineers and Scientists to develop a detailed regulatory roadmap for its Bald Hill antimony project, located in New Brunswick, Canada.
Strategic Planning for Project Approval
The appointment of GEMTEC is centered on creating a comprehensive plan that will map out all relevant legislation, identify the appropriate regulatory bodies, and clarify permitting requirements alongside projected timelines. Initial discussions with provincial government representatives have already been conducted. According to CEO Jim Atkinson, proactively involving regulators and local communities from the outset is a strategic move designed to streamline and potentially accelerate the overall permitting process.
Fieldwork for baseline environmental studies is scheduled to commence in the spring of 2026. The project is expected to require a provincial-level environmental impact assessment. However, the possibility of an additional federal-level review has not been ruled out, introducing a degree of uncertainty into the projected schedule.

Engagement with Indigenous and Local Stakeholders
The company has initiated early dialogue with the Department of Indigenous Affairs as well as local municipal councils. A formal Indigenous engagement plan and a separate public participation plan are integral components of the regulatory framework being prepared by GEMTEC.
The Bald Hill project is based on a conceptual target of approximately 2.7 million tonnes of material, with an estimated antimony grade ranging between 3% and 4%. The company explicitly notes that this remains a conceptual estimate, pending confirmation through further detailed work.
This move to formalize the permitting pathway coincides with a broader geopolitical trend where Western nations are actively seeking to secure domestic supply chains for critical minerals. Antimony, a material essential for flame retardants, munitions primers, and various defense applications, is classified as such a critical resource. The final determination on whether a separate federal assessment will be necessary is expected to emerge from the ongoing consultations with authorities.
