Amprius Achieves Profitability Milestone Amidst Rapid Growth
09.03.2026 - 08:05:51 | boerse-global.deBattery technology firm Amprius Technologies has reached a significant operational milestone, reporting its first quarterly profit on the back of surging revenue. The company's fiscal year 2025 results reveal a dramatic financial transformation, setting the stage for an ambitious expansion plan through 2026.
A Landmark Quarter and Year
The final quarter of 2025 proved transformative for Amprius. The company generated $25.2 million in revenue, representing a 137% year-over-year increase. For the full fiscal year, revenue tripled to reach $73.0 million, up from the 2024 total.
Perhaps more telling than the top-line growth is the remarkable recovery in profitability metrics. The gross margin, which stood at a deeply negative 76% for the entirety of 2024, rebounded to a positive 24% in Q4 2025. This improvement culminated in the company posting its first positive adjusted EBITDA for a quarter, which came in at $1.8 million. Management attributes this performance directly to successful production scaling efforts.
Amprius concludes the year with a robust balance sheet, holding $91.9 million in cash and equivalents and carrying no debt—a position that provides substantial flexibility for future strategic moves.
Strategic Pivot Drives Efficiency Gains
A strategic shift to a capital-light, fabless manufacturing model is credited for the improved cost structure. By shuttering its Colorado facility and focusing on strategic partnerships, Amprius significantly reduced its fixed costs. A newly announced collaboration with Nanotech Energy aims to bolster the U.S.-based supply chain for its silicon-anode battery cells, a critical factor for clients in the defense and aerospace sectors.
Commercial traction is accelerating. The customer base grew by over 100 new clients in Q4 2025 alone, bringing the total to more than 550. A key development during the period was the integration of Amprius's SiCore cells into Nokia's drone networks.

Setting Sights on Market Leadership
Looking ahead, management has set ambitious targets for fiscal 2026. The company aims for revenue of at least $125 million. It expects to deliver an adjusted EBITDA of no less than $4 million, while targeting a containment of the net loss to under $8 million, or $0.06 per share.
These goals are supported by a $14.8 million order from the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU), which is expected to help keep capital expenditures below $10 million for the year.
Investors will have several opportunities to hear the company's strategy detailed in the coming days. Amprius is scheduled to present at the Cantor Global Technology Conference in New York on March 10, followed by the Canaccord Genuity Sustainability Summit on March 12. The long-term vision remains bold: by 2030, the company is targeting a gross margin exceeding 30% and an EBITDA margin of at least 20%.
