The European Union employs more than 10 million ICT specialists in 2026 — but that is barely half the number it needs by 2030. Already in 2023, over 57 percent of EU companies reported difficulties filling IT vacancies. Against that talent crunch, a wave of companies is pouring money into automated onboarding and AI-native platforms designed to integrate partners, contractors and new hires in hours instead of weeks.

It is a shift that touches everything from insurance agents to solar installers, and from recruiting agencies to internal corporate knowledge bases.

OpenAI's $150 Million Bet on Partner Ecosystems

OpenAI launched a formal partner network in mid-June 2026 with a roughly $150 million budget. The goal: assemble an ecosystem of 300,000 certified consultants by the end of the year. The program is structured in three tiers and includes a pilot project aimed at complex implementations. The move answers competition from Anthropic, which had already set up similar structures with significant investment earlier in the spring.

On June 19, Netskope unveiled its Catalyst program for Managed Service Providers. The company says a new orchestration tool can provision customer environments for SASE services in under 15 minutes.

Insurance and Energy Go Automated

Edelweiss General Insurance has introduced an automated onboarding solution that is designed to cut the process for agents and brokers to under 24 hours.

In the renewable-energy space, metergrid announced a web-based partner portal at The Smarter E trade fair in Munich in late June. The portal lets installers run project calculations for tenant-electricity models in a matter of seconds.

Recruiting Gets AI Screening Agents

On June 18, Employ Inc. and VONQ announced the integration of AI screening agents into applicant-tracking systems. These agents use chat and voice interviews to evaluate skills. The companies stress a focus on explainability of results and avoidance of bias.

The platform Remote People was named a leading Employer of Record solution in recent industry reports, allowing companies to manage employees and contractors in more than 180 countries.

One case demonstrates the scale of efficiency gains possible: Dupaco Community Credit Union deployed a new account-opening platform, saving over 4,000 employee hours and tripling its online new-account rate.

Staff Augmentation and AI Knowledge Management Fill Gaps

To close short-term talent shortages, models such as staff augmentation are gaining traction, placing external experts into existing teams within weeks.

Companies are also leaning on AI-powered knowledge management. Readyplace cites a reduction in support queries of up to 60 percent driven by its AI-driven click tutorials — used, among others, in the DATEV Help Center.

A Central Hub Linking 60 Corporate Systems

Workvivo, a subsidiary of Zoom, introduced an AI-native digital headquarters that can connect more than 60 different corporate systems. The platform makes knowledge centrally accessible for its over 10 million users worldwide.

A January 2026 study by Kantata found that 87 percent of organizations in the professional-services segment plan to deploy AI agents to ensure future growth. The trend suggests that the automation of onboarding and integration is no longer a niche experiment but a core competitive strategy.
