01 Quantum's Japanese Debut Marks New Chapter in Post-Quantum Commercialization

Cybersecurity firm 01 Quantum debuts DoMobile Ver. 5 in Japan, a post-quantum remote-access platform, sending shares up 12% but still down 29-32% YTD.

The shift from laboratory to marketplace is gathering pace at 01 Quantum. After a strategic realignment, the cybersecurity firm has launched its first commercial product in Japan — a milestone that sent its shares sharply higher but has done little to reverse a bruising start to the year.

The stock jumped 11.79% to €0.30 in today's trading, extending a recovery that has now run for seven consecutive sessions. In a separate report, the gain was put at nearly 17%, lifting the share price to €0.32. Either way, the bounce follows a grim year-to-date performance, with the equity still nursing losses of between 29% and 32% since January.

At the heart of the move is DoMobile Ver. 5, a remote-access security platform built on the company's IronCAP post-quantum cryptography (PQC) technology. Developed in partnership with a regional player, the solution is designed to protect against "harvest-now, decrypt-later" attacks — a growing threat where encrypted data is stolen today and stored for future decryption by powerful quantum computers. The business model relies on upfront development fees and recurring licensing revenue, a structure the management hopes will generate predictable income streams.

Blockchain and AI in the crosshairs

01 Quantum is not stopping at remote access. The company has also unveiled infrastructure tools aimed at shoring up blockchain ecosystems, including networks such as Ethereum and Solana, against quantum-enabled breaches. Its proprietary token will serve as the digital currency for security fees within these networks, creating a closed-loop payment system for its services.

Looking further ahead, the "Quantum AI Wrapper" is being positioned as a potential growth driver. The technology targets a critical vulnerability in enterprise AI deployments: the protection of sensitive data queries and proprietary model information. By layering PQC onto existing encryption methods, the company is eyeing deployments in highly regulated sectors such as healthcare and finance.

Boardroom reinforcements and standards alignment

To ensure its products meet evolving regulatory requirements, 01 Quantum has strengthened its board of directors with specialists in global encryption standards. The move comes as the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) formalizes the algorithms that will define the post-quantum era. Early alignment with these standards could give the company a competitive edge when compliance becomes mandatory.

The immediate priority, however, is scaling the partner pipeline. The company's ability to convert its patented technology into recurring revenue will be the decisive factor in its valuation over the coming quarters. Management has stated that current funding is sufficient to execute the strategy through the end of the fiscal year, providing a runway to prove the commercial model works.
