Youngone and the Federation of Korean Industries hosted Bangladesh's finance and planning minister in Seoul on Monday, November 2, for talks on expanding trade and investment between South Korea and Bangladesh. The development was reported by Korea JoongAng Daily on November 3.
Bangladesh Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury attended a dinner at the Federation of Korean Industries Tower in Seoul. The delegation is scheduled to meet Korean government officials and representatives of companies including Samsung Electronics, Samsung C&T, SK hynix, LG Electronics, Hanwha Ocean and Naver during its visit.
Youngone Seeks Closer Business Ties
Youngone Holdings Chief Executive and Vice Chairperson Sung Rae-eun said Bangladesh was a valued long-term partner and that the visit could create new opportunities for cooperation and sustainable growth. Participants also discussed Bangladesh's growth potential and new opportunities for Korean companies.
The talks add a policy and trade dimension to Youngone's established Bangladesh presence. The company opened the country's first foreign-invested garment factory in 1980, according to the report, linking its apparel manufacturing operations to a market that remains central to its international footprint.
Business Model And Market Position
Youngone Corporation is a South Korean outdoor apparel manufacturer with operations linked to international clothing production and branded retail. It also operates The North Face in Korea and has maintained a manufacturing presence in Bangladesh since 1980. That cross-border production footprint and its combination of manufacturing with branded retail give Youngone a more international profile than a purely domestic apparel seller.
