The interim report shows that earnings growth came with stronger coal pricing and a sharper contribution from coal chemicals.
Profit growth reaches 47.8 percent
According to Futunn, first-half operating revenue increased 13.0 percent year over year, while attributable net profit rose 47.8 percent to CNY 7.150 billion. Second-quarter revenue reached CNY 41.058 billion, up 24.5 percent year over year, and attributable net profit was CNY 3.195 billion, up 55.3 percent.
The earnings mix matters. Self-produced coal sales totaled 80.48 million tonnes in the first half, up 3.4 percent, while the average selling price reached CNY 553.30 per tonne, an increase of 9.3 percent year over year, according to Futunn.
Coal chemicals add operating leverage
Coal chemicals supplied a second earnings driver. First-half revenue from the segment rose 9.5 percent to CNY 13.747 billion, while gross profit climbed 30.7 percent to CNY 4.069 billion and gross margin expanded to 29.6 percent from 24.8 percent, as Futunn reported.
The counterweight is power generation. First-half electricity sales fell 8.2 percent to 2.672 billion kilowatt-hours, and power revenue declined 15.0 percent to CNY 951 million after the Jisan Power Plant shutdown, according to the same interim-results report published by Futunn.
Cash returns set the next checkpoint
Yankuang Energy recommended an interim cash dividend of CNY 0.20 per share, with payment scheduled for October 21, 2026, according to MarketScreener. The company also completed a buyback of 1,965,200 A shares for CNY 50.93 million, a capital-return measure that remains smaller than the earnings contribution from coal pricing and chemical margins.
Yankuang Energy stock belongs to a group whose operating result is increasingly sensitive to the relationship between coal prices, sales volumes and chemical spreads. The interim figures show price, rather than volume, was the larger contributor to coal-revenue growth in the first half.
