- Yamato's board decided on September 3, 2026 to end dedicated cargo flights with Japan Airlines through June 2027.
- First-quarter revenue for fiscal 2027 reached JPY 443.33 billion against a JPY 449.55 billion forecast.
- Yamato Holdings is scheduled to report its second-quarter fiscal 2026 results on November 4, 2026.
Yamato Holdings (ISIN JP3940000007) resolved on September 3, 2026 to end its domestic dedicated cargo aircraft operations with Japan Airlines through June 2027, a shift that puts cost discipline at the center of the logistics strategy. As Simply Wall St reported on September 17, the company plans to shift customers toward passenger aircraft capacity and existing ground networks.
Three decisions shape the year
Yamato's investor-relations calendar lists April 30, 2026 for its fiscal 2026 performance results and August 3, 2026 for first-quarter fiscal 2027 results. The same calendar also sets October 30, 2026 for second-quarter fiscal 2026 results, giving investors a defined sequence for measuring the air-freight change.
For fiscal 2026, Note reported operating revenue of JPY 1.865675 trillion and operating profit of JPY 28.304 billion. That provides a historical baseline for the fiscal 2027 plan, which the same source described as targeting JPY 1.918 trillion of operating revenue and JPY 42.000 billion of operating profit.
What does the exit change?
The answer is visible in the cost structure. Dedicated freighter operations require aircraft capacity, fuel and specialized logistics coordination, while Yamato can redirect demand toward passenger-aircraft cargo space and trucking routes. Simply Wall St said the board expected only a minimal effect on the current fiscal year, but it also highlighted a margin of 0.70 percent versus 2.40 percent a year earlier.
The first-quarter figures add a second test. Investing.com lists revenue of JPY 443.33 billion against a JPY 449.55 billion forecast and adjusted earnings per share of minus JPY 18.59 against a minus JPY 34.68 forecast for the latest release dated August 3, 2026. Revenue was therefore JPY 6.22 billion below the forecast, while adjusted earnings per share was less negative than expected by JPY 16.09.
Next reporting date is November 4
Yamato Holdings lists October 30, 2026 for its second-quarter fiscal 2026 performance announcement, while Investing.com identifies November 4, 2026 as the next earnings date. The difference reflects the distinction between the company calendar entry and the portal's expected reporting date.
