Tabcorp targets One Pool launch: RBC rates Tabcorp stock Outperform!?
Published on 10/02/2026 at 19:31 | Editorial responsibility: Rafael Müller, Editor-in-Chief AD HOC NEWSTabcorp (AU000000TAH8) is targeting the October 3-4, 2026 weekend for the launch of its One Pool national tote, while Tabcorp stock stood at EUR 0.54 in after-hours trading at Lang & Schwarz. As iGaming.News reported on September 21, the launch follows testing that began on September 24 and remains tied to system performance. As Motley Fool Australia reported on September 23, RBC Capital Markets initiated coverage with an Outperform rating.
One Pool tests a national model
The project combines the NSW TAB, SuperTAB and UniTAB pools into one national wagering system. The planned launch would consolidate liquidity across Australian jurisdictions and give customers a single tote dividend for eligible races, according to iGaming.News.
The same report said initial trials covered race meetings in Tamworth and Warwick, with a full testing day provisionally scheduled for September 28. Tabcorp developed the system with BetMakers, the technology company it agreed to acquire for AUD 250.00 million.
Profit growth outpaced revenue
Tabcorp's FY 2026 results for the year ended June 30, 2026, showed revenue of AUD 2,636.30 million, up 0.80 percent from the prior year. EBITDA before significant items rose 10.30 percent to AUD 431.70 million, while statutory net profit after tax increased 26.50 percent to AUD 46.30 million, according to Kapitales Research.
That earnings mix matters because cost discipline converted 0.80 percent revenue growth into double-digit EBITDA growth. Tabcorp also declared a 1.50-cent unfranked final dividend, taking FY 2026 dividends to 3.00 cents per share, up 50.00 percent from FY 2025.
Technology remains the execution test
Tabcorp's proposed BetMakers transaction is designed to modernize its technology and create a business-to-business growth platform. The company targets AUD 30.00 million in annual run-rate cost synergies by the end of the second year, with completion targeted during the third quarter of fiscal 2027, according to the company's FY 2026 earnings call transcript published by Yahoo Finance.
The main counterweight is execution and regulation. The transaction requires approvals, while management said an AUSTRAC investigation remains active in the FY 2026 earnings call. For investors, the One Pool rollout offers the clearest near-term test of whether the technology strategy can improve wagering liquidity and product economics.
