Sunoco LP is heading toward its November 3, 2026, third-quarter earnings release with investors focused on whether expected profit growth can support the partnership's valuation. In an October 27 analysis, Gokhshtein Media said Sunoco traded at a forward P/E of 6.93, compared with 11.52 for the energy sector.
Valuation faces an earnings test
The analysis cited forecasts for fourth-quarter earnings per share of USD 2.94 and full-year earnings per share of USD 10.60. It also said revenue forecasts stood at USD 16.45 billion for the quarter and USD 57.42 billion for the full year.
Those estimates imply a sharp year-over-year increase in earnings and revenue, but the November report will determine how much of that outlook is supported by reported results. Gokhshtein Media also said the consensus earnings-per-share estimate had been revised upward by 10.65 percent over the previous 30 days.
Distribution remains part of the case
Sunoco announced on October 22 a quarterly distribution of USD 1.0148 per common unit for the quarter ended September 30. The payment is scheduled for November 19 to holders of record on November 6, while the annualized distribution is USD 4.0592.
The distribution increase extends Sunoco's stated focus on recurring cash returns. For investors, the upcoming results will offer the next read on earnings, cash generation and the partnership's ability to support that policy.
