- Second-quarter consolidated profit increased while broadcasting revenue and EBITDA weakened.
- Subscription income and cricket franchises provided support as advertising remained under pressure.
- The board declared a second interim dividend, while analysts kept their consensus target broadly unchanged.
Sun TV Network kept consolidated profit growth positive in the quarter ended Wednesday, September 30, 2026, even as revenue from operations contracted sharply. Adgully reported on Monday, November 2, that consolidated net profit rose 2.79 percent year on year to INR 364.59 crore.
Revenue pressure tests broadcasting
Consolidated revenue fell 27.7 percent to INR 940.31 crore, while standalone revenue declined 31.4 percent to INR 801.76 crore. Standalone EBITDA dropped to INR 417.30 crore from INR 749.94 crore, highlighting the effect of weaker operating leverage.
Domestic subscription revenue provided some stability, rising 2.34 percent year on year to INR 487.23 crore. Advertising revenue was INR 252.76 crore, leaving the core broadcasting business exposed to continued softness in the ad market.
Sports portfolio adds support
Sun TV's cricket franchises generated INR 730.22 crore of revenue in the first half of fiscal 2027, up from INR 567.55 crore a year earlier, while operating costs reached INR 404.34 crore. SunRisers Leeds contributed INR 98.61 crore of revenue and INR 18.50 crore of profit before tax.
The board declared a second interim dividend of INR 3.75 per share for fiscal 2027, following an INR 5 dividend announced in August. The record date is Thursday, November 5, 2026, according to the reported corporate action.
Analysts see limited estimate changes
Simply Wall St said on Tuesday, November 3, that analysts had made no major changes to their forecasts after the results. Its consensus revenue estimate for 2027 was INR 46.0 billion, while the consensus price target remained at INR 663.
