- Canada awarded SIGA a new contract to supply oral TPOXX to the Canadian Armed Forces.
- The agreement combines firm commitments with options and extends procurement through March 31, 2031.
- SIGA is due to host its third-quarter 2026 business update on November 9.
SIGA Technologies has secured a new Canadian government contract for oral TPOXX, extending its role in national smallpox preparedness. The company announced the award on October 28, 2026, saying Public Services and Procurement Canada placed the order for the Canadian Department of National Defence.
Contract adds Canadian demand
Under the agreement, Canada can purchase up to approximately 15 million US dollars of oral TPOXX through March 31, 2031. About 9 million US dollars represents firm commitments during the first three years, while a further 6 million US dollars depends on the exercise of options by the department.
The award is the second TPOXX contract that Public Services and Procurement Canada has placed on behalf of the Canadian Armed Forces. The previous agreement, awarded in April 2020 for up to approximately 14 million US dollars, was completed with final deliveries in 2025. Oral TPOXX received Health Canada approval for smallpox treatment in November 2021.
The contract provides a new multiyear procurement framework, but the option portion remains dependent on a future government decision. For investors, the agreement adds international customer visibility while leaving quarterly revenue timing dependent on deliveries and public-sector ordering cycles.
Next results date approaches
SIGA has scheduled its third-quarter 2026 business update for Monday, November 9, at 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time. Chief Executive Officer Diem Nguyen and Chief Financial Officer Daniel Luckshire are expected to participate after the release of the quarterly results.
The company reported in its second-quarter update that product-related revenue reached 38 million US dollars for the quarter and 41 million US dollars for the first six months of 2026. Management also said it was pursuing additional government procurement and international opportunities, underscoring the importance of contract timing to the business.
