Scotiabank cuts target for StorageVault Canada stock to CAD 5.75
Published on 10/07/2026 at 06:23 | Editorial responsibility: Rafael Müller, Editor-in-Chief AD HOC NEWSScotiabank cut its target for StorageVault Canada stock from CAD 6.00 to CAD 5.75 on September 30, 2026, according to IT BOLTWISE. The adjustment arrived as StorageVault prepared to repay its 5.50 percent senior unsecured hybrid debentures due September 30, 2026.
Target cut meets debt repayment
IT BOLTWISE reported that StorageVault planned to pay 100 percent of the outstanding principal plus accrued interest from existing cash. That financing action gives the target cut a balance-sheet context: the analyst view moved lower while the company addressed a defined maturity.
The same report placed the Canadian reference price at CAD 4.17 on October 1, 2026. The new CAD 5.75 target therefore stood CAD 1.58 above that reference level, while the previous CAD 6.00 target stood CAD 1.83 higher.
Revenue grew as losses narrowed
StorageVault generated CAD 91.09 million of revenue in the second quarter of 2026, compared with CAD 85.22 million in the first quarter, a sequential increase of 6.90 percent, according to StorageVault Canada and the financial figures reported by IT BOLTWISE. The company also reduced its net loss from CAD 13.55 million in the first quarter to CAD 6.62 million in the second quarter.
That combination matters for the valuation debate. Revenue increased by CAD 5.88 million between the two quarters, while the net loss narrowed by CAD 6.93 million, but StorageVault still remained loss-making in the second quarter.
Storage network supports scale
StorageVault's investor-relations page says the company had more than 13.2 million square feet of space in over 115,785 storage units on 767 acres. The page also reports fiscal-year 2025 revenue of CAD 335.1 million, up 10.00 percent from CAD 304.7 million in fiscal year 2024, while net operating income rose 9.50 percent to CAD 220.7 million from CAD 201.6 million.
The operating footprint gives the company a large recurring storage base, but the second-quarter loss and the debt repayment keep cash generation central to the investment case. The next valuation test is whether revenue growth can translate into sustained earnings improvement after the financing obligation has been addressed.
