- Third-quarter profit fell 4.0 percent quarter on quarter as bond-market volatility hurt investment results.
- Core net interest and fee income remained resilient, while asset quality continued to improve.
- SCBX is preparing for a virtual-bank launch and will change chief executives on January 1, 2027.
SCB X Public Company Limited reported net profit of 10,677 million Thai baht for the third quarter on October 21, 2026, down 4.0 percent from the previous quarter. The company attributed the decline mainly to mark-to-market losses on debt securities as bond yields rose, according to SCBX.
For the first nine months of 2026, net profit reached 31,989 million Thai baht, down 14.3 percent from the same period a year earlier. Net interest income rose 0.5 percent quarter on quarter to 27,452 million Thai baht, while fee and other income increased 6.2 percent year on year to 11,498 million Thai baht.
Core income offsets investment volatility
SCBX said asset quality continued to normalize through debt restructuring, selective non-performing-loan sales and write-offs. The group also cited lower operating expenses and improving credit conditions as support for its core businesses.
Investment and trading income posted a loss of 424 million Thai baht in the quarter, compared with income of 2,552 million Thai baht in the previous quarter. Management said it is expanding non-interest income, applying artificial intelligence across operations and preparing for the launch of its virtual bank.
SCB X stock traded at 152.50 Thai baht in the Thailand market at 09:37 UTC on Friday, October 30, 2026, down 0.65 percent from the previous close.
