Samsung Electro-Mechanics reported record quarterly sales and operating profit on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, as demand for components used in artificial intelligence infrastructure accelerated. The company said consolidated third-quarter sales reached KRW 3,763.3 billion and operating profit KRW 691.0 billion. The figures increased 30 percent and 165 percent year over year, respectively, according to the company announcement.

AI Components Lead Growth

The Component Solution division generated third-quarter sales of KRW 1,883.0 billion, up 36 percent year over year. Growth was led by multilayer ceramic capacitors for servers, networking equipment and power systems used in AI data centers.

The Package Solution division posted sales of KRW 939.0 billion, an increase of 58 percent from a year earlier. Samsung Electro-Mechanics attributed the gain to higher shipments of advanced FCBGA substrates for server CPUs, AI accelerators and networking applications. The company expects data-center customers to seek additional supply in the fourth quarter.

Camera Modules Add Diversification

Optical Solution sales rose 3 percent year over year to KRW 941.3 billion, although they fell 9 percent from the previous quarter. New 200-megapixel folded-zoom modules, foldable-phone shipments and automotive programs for global electric-vehicle customers supported the annual increase.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics plans to expand production capacity for high-value FCBGA products and increase supplies of compact, high-capacitance MLCCs. It also expects demand for automotive components to remain steady as autonomous-driving applications develop.

Business Model and Competition

Samsung Electro-Mechanics manufactures multilayer ceramic capacitors, semiconductor package substrates and camera modules for data-center, mobile and automotive applications. Its portfolio places it alongside component specialists such as Murata Manufacturing, TDK and Taiyo Yuden, with Samsung Electro-Mechanics combining passive components, substrates and optical modules in one business.
