Samsung E&A reported a sharp rise in third-quarter profitability on October 22, 2026, and raised its full-year targets. In its corporate release, the company said consolidated revenue reached KRW 2.9105 trillion and operating profit rose 183.6 percent year-on-year to KRW 500.6 billion.

Profit growth broadens

Revenue increased 45.8 percent from the same quarter a year earlier. Samsung E&A attributed the stronger result to the fuller contribution of large Hydrocarbon and Advanced Tech projects, together with tighter project cost management and productivity gains linked to artificial intelligence, digital transformation and robotics.

For the first nine months, revenue totaled KRW 7.7872 trillion and operating profit reached KRW 961.9 billion. New orders in the third quarter came to KRW 9.4 trillion, taking the year-to-date total to KRW 17.1 trillion. The order backlog stood at KRW 27.2 trillion at the end of September.

Targets move higher

After exceeding its previous annual order and profit targets ahead of schedule, Samsung E&A raised its order forecast for 2026 from KRW 12 trillion to KRW 19 trillion. The operating profit forecast rose from KRW 800 billion to KRW 1.4 trillion.

The company also highlighted a September award from SABIC Agri-Nutrients for a fertilizer project worth approximately KRW 4.7 trillion. The contract adds to the backlog supporting management's revised outlook, although delivery and profitability will depend on project execution.

Shareholder return plan

Samsung E&A's board approved a treasury-share program worth approximately KRW 780 billion on October 22. The planned purchases run from October 23, 2026, through January 22, 2027. Of the total, KRW 690 billion is intended for shares that will later be cancelled, while KRW 90 billion is allocated for purposes including employee compensation.
