Construction drives operating growth
Consolidated revenue increased 18.3 percent to 12 trillion won, while operating profit climbed 15 percent to 1.14 trillion won. Samsung C&T said large domestic semiconductor plant projects and overseas data center and energy work lifted operating performance, with further growth expected in those areas during the fourth quarter.
Trading in key industrial materials also contributed to the operating improvement. The company raised its annual order target by 7 trillion won to 30.1 trillion won, pointing to stronger project activity as a central focus for investors after the quarterly release.
Business model and market position
Samsung C&T is the construction and trading arm of South Korea's Samsung Group. Its activities include domestic semiconductor plant construction, overseas data center and energy projects, and trading in industrial materials. The reported quarter therefore combined project execution with trading income, leaving construction as the clearest operating growth driver.
