Logistics subsidiary supports expansion
Piraeus Port Authority said on October 19 that its board had approved the establishment of a wholly owned subsidiary named Piraeus Gate Supply Chain Single-Member S.A. The company is based in Piraeus and is intended to support logistics and supply-chain activities.
The announcement links the new subsidiary to the port operator's planned logistics investment. Its permitted activities also include infrastructure, real estate, tourism and energy, giving the vehicle a wider scope than a single terminal project, according to the company's investor-relations announcement.
Investor focus shifts to execution
For investors, the subsidiary creates a corporate structure for the logistics expansion and places execution, capital deployment and future operating contributions in focus. The announcement itself does not set out a revised earnings forecast or a timetable for the project's completion.
