- Semiconductor materials and pitch sales supported stronger third-quarter revenue.
- Scheduled maintenance may weigh on fourth-quarter performance.
OCI returned to operating profit in the third quarter as demand for semiconductor materials strengthened, according to The Korea Herald. The figures were announced on October 28, 2026, and covered the quarter ended September 30.
Profit returns as materials grow
OCI reported consolidated third-quarter sales of 599.1 billion Korean won, up 25.8 percent from a year earlier. Operating profit reached 30.3 billion Korean won, compared with an operating loss of 10.3 billion Korean won in the same quarter last year.
Sales of semiconductor materials and pitch helped lift the quarter, while higher carbon black selling prices supported the carbon chemicals business. The basic chemicals division generated sales of 212.6 billion Korean won and operating profit of 9.7 billion Korean won. Carbon chemicals contributed sales of 397.3 billion Korean won and operating profit of 29 billion Korean won.
Maintenance shapes the next quarter
OCI expects fourth-quarter earnings to decline slightly because of scheduled maintenance at its facilities. Management expects semiconductor-materials demand to continue expanding, while pitch prices are expected to support profitability.
