MPBS stock shows revenue growth despite lower net income
Published on 10/08/2026 at 03:31 | Editorial responsibility: Rafael Müller, Editor-in-Chief AD HOC NEWSManufacture de Panneaux Bois du Sud (MPBS) reported TND 57.46 million in revenue for the six months ended June 30, 2026, compared with TND 47.07 million a year earlier. The interim figures show stronger operations alongside tighter financing conditions for the Tunis-listed wood-panel producer.
Revenue expands in Tunisia
According to Zonebourse on September 9, 2026, MPBS generated TND 57.46 million in sales during the first half of 2026, versus TND 47.07 million in the first half of 2025. Total operating revenue reached TND 57.67 million, compared with TND 47.24 million in the prior-year period.
The geographic mix explains much of the increase. According to ilBoursa on September 10, 2026, local sales rose from TND 46.3 million to TND 60.2 million, while export sales fell from TND 2.65 million to TND 3,774. The result is a growth profile led by domestic demand rather than balanced regional expansion.
Operating profit rises, net income falls
MPBS increased operating profit to TND 5.15 million in the first half of 2026 from TND 4.11 million a year earlier. The improvement was accompanied by higher operating costs, including TND 47.71 million in consumed supplies, according to the company financial statements published through Zonebourse.
Net income moved in the opposite direction, falling to TND 4.85 million from TND 5.05 million in the first half of 2025. The decline followed higher net financial charges of TND 1.42 million, compared with TND 1.05 million a year earlier, while financial and investment income fell to TND 1.97 million from TND 2.70 million.
Working capital remains central
The balance sheet highlights the main counterweight to MPBS revenue growth. Net cash stood at negative TND 12.53 million on June 30, 2026, compared with negative TND 7.87 million at December 31, 2025. Current bank facilities and other financial liabilities reached TND 22.26 million, up from TND 16.27 million at June 30, 2025.
For investors, the central reading is the gap between operating progress and financing pressure. MPBS is expanding sales and operating profit, but the lower net result and deeper negative cash balance make working-capital management a key measure for the second half of 2026.
