- The company plans to explore collateral and capital-efficiency applications for tokenized securities.
- DTCC's service links conventional securities infrastructure with blockchain-based transfers while preserving existing ownership rights.
Mirae Asset Securities' New York subsidiary signed an agreement on Friday, October 30, 2026, to use the Tokenization Service of U.S. market infrastructure group DTCC. The move gives the Korean brokerage a position among the service's initial users as it explores applications linking traditional securities with blockchain-based markets, according to Financial News.
From Industry Talks To Use
Mirae Asset Securities' New York unit was one of 20 financial companies to sign user agreements when DTCC's service launched. JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, Citigroup and Fidelity were also named among the initial participants.
The agreement moves the subsidiary beyond discussions through DTCC's Digital Assets Working Group and toward testing a live market infrastructure service. DTCC's custody subsidiary DTC launched the service on October 28 in the United States.
Collateral And Capital Efficiency
DTCC's service represents rights to eligible securities held in DTC custody as blockchain-based tokens. It supports transfers to digital wallets while preserving ownership, economic rights and existing investor-protection frameworks.
Mirae Asset Securities plans to assess links with its existing activities, including the use of tokenized securities as collateral. The company also intends to examine whether the technology can improve asset transfers, liquidity and capital deployment as infrastructure and market conditions develop.
The announcement gives Mirae Asset Securities an additional route into digital-asset infrastructure, but the company described the commercial applications as opportunities to be identified in stages. The agreement therefore marks a platform-building step rather than a disclosed revenue contribution.
