- MB's board approved a plan for a wholly owned bank at the Vietnam International Financial Centre.
- The proposed subsidiary is intended to support financial products, payment infrastructure, market platforms and core technology.
- Regulatory procedures and approvals are still required before implementation.
Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank's board approved a plan on October 29, 2026, to establish a wholly owned bank at the Vietnam International Financial Centre. The bank's official disclosure identifies the resolution approving the plan.
New subsidiary broadens MB's VIFC strategy
The proposed entity is MB Global Limited Liability Bank, according to Vietnam.vn. The report says the planned charter capital is VND 3,000 billion and that MB would own 100 percent of the subsidiary. The plan still requires completion of procedures and approval from the competent authorities.
MB intends the VIFC operation to develop modern financial and banking products, payment infrastructure, market platforms and core technology. The proposed activities include payment systems, multi-asset custody and clearing, commodity-market platforms, digital identity, security, data governance and risk management.
MB operates alongside domestic bank rivals
Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank is a Vietnam-based commercial bank headquartered in Hanoi, with services for individual and corporate customers. Its VIFC plan places it among domestic lenders such as Vietcombank, HDBank and SHB that have also approved plans for wholly owned subsidiary banks at the centre. MB is therefore pursuing a parallel international-finance expansion path rather than a standalone market initiative.
