KLCC stock remains tied to the operating performance of the KLCCP Stapled Group, whose portfolio includes the PETRONAS Twin Towers, Suria KLCC and Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur. In a report first published for the October 5 to 11, 2026 issue and updated on October 27, The Edge Malaysia highlighted the group's record FY2025 performance and its priorities for the current year.

Record performance sets a high base

The Edge reported FY2025 revenue of RM1.74 billion and distributable income of RM1.28 billion, both described as records. The retail segment contributed RM450.9 million to profit before tax of RM970.3 million. The group also declared a distribution of 47 sen per stapled security for FY2025, compared with 44.5 sen in FY2024.

For the first half of FY2026, net profit was RM408.6 million, slightly above RM401.9 million a year earlier. The report attributed the improvement to strong retail occupancy and rental rates. That performance provides support for the income profile, although it also leaves investors assessing whether growth can continue from an elevated base.

Tourism and Ombak KLCC in focus

Malaysia's Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign and the country's Asean chairmanship are part of the group's operating backdrop. Management expects stronger international arrivals to support footfall at Suria KLCC and occupancy at Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur. The Edge also noted that flight cancellations and higher travel costs could limit that potential tailwind.

Ombak KLCC is another important development. The six-storey, 420,000-square-foot mall opened on August 21 and has about 120 retail lots. KLCCP does not own the mall, which belongs to its parent KLCC Holdings, but is expected to earn facilities management income from it. Analysts cited by The Edge expect a gradual earnings contribution as occupancy and trading develop through 2026 and 2027.

Income stability versus operating risks

Management has expressed confidence in sustaining positive performance, while also pointing to economic uncertainty and cost pressure in the retail and hotel businesses. For investors, the main balance is between the group's established office and retail assets, tourism-related upside and the execution risks associated with operating costs and new precinct activity.
