The company is paying an AUD 0.045 interim dividend for the six months ended June 30, 2026, according to Simply Wall St.
Dividend follows slower growth
The payment date gives shareholders a concrete return milestone after a half-year in which Kina expanded, but at a slower pace than in previous reporting periods. The interim dividend rose 13 percent in Papua New Guinea kina terms to PGK 0.142, while the Australian-dollar equivalent remained AUD 0.045, as management linked the difference to currency movements.
Yahoo Finance reported that Kina's half-year results for the period ended June 30, 2026, showed revenue up 2 percent to PGK 254.8 million and statutory net profit after tax up 4 percent to PGK 59.7 million. Earnings per share increased 1 percent to PGK 0.2030.
Margins and capital set the tone
The earnings mix matters because net interest margin eased 10 basis points to 5.8 percent in the first half. Return on equity was 16.6 percent, 50 basis points lower, while capital adequacy increased 870 basis points to 26 percent.
Management also said funds under administration grew 15 percent to PGK 25.1 billion and funds under management rose 10 percent to PGK 14.4 billion. Those figures show that wealth management provided a stronger growth contribution than the headline revenue increase alone suggests.
Payments remain the key risk
The earnings call identified a card interoperability problem affecting payments acquiring revenue as a pressure point. Management said the issue was expected to be resolved by the end of 2026, while warning that a full revenue recovery could extend into 2027.
The company also pointed to stronger foreign-exchange activity and loan growth as second-half opportunities. For investors, the central tension is visible in the numbers: PGK 59.7 million of first-half statutory profit and 26 percent capital adequacy provide support, while 5.8 percent net interest margin and the payments disruption limit the pace of improvement.
