Hyundai E&C stock reports lower revenue and higher Q2 margin
Published on 10/07/2026 at 03:13 | Editorial responsibility: Rafael Müller, Editor-in-Chief AD HOC NEWSHyundai E&C (ISIN KR7000720003) posted Q2 2026 revenue of KRW 6.84 trillion, down 11.4 percent from the same quarter a year earlier. The Korean builder's operating profit reached KRW 262 billion, making the latest quarterly margin the central issue for the stock.
Q2 margin improves despite lower sales
According to ATS View, Hyundai Engineering & Construction reported Q2 2026 operating profit of KRW 262 billion and net income of KRW 157 billion. Revenue was KRW 6.84 trillion, compared with KRW 7.72 trillion in Q2 2025, while the operating margin rose to 3.8 percent from 2.8 percent.
The sequential comparison is more constructive on profitability: operating profit increased from KRW 181 billion in Q1 2026 to KRW 262 billion in Q2, while the margin advanced from 2.9 percent to 3.8 percent. Revenue, however, rose only from KRW 6.28 trillion to KRW 6.84 trillion, leaving earnings quality and project execution as the key operating questions.
Overseas housing adds a growth angle
Hyundai E&C said on September 22, 2026, that it had signed an investment agreement for a 45-story, 260-unit apartment project in Chatswood, Sydney. The total project cost is KRW 350 billion, and Hyundai E&C is responsible for equity investment, technical and design reviews, and overall construction project management.
The Sydney project gives the revenue decline a strategic counterpoint, but its financial contribution will develop over several years. The company plans to begin demolition in November 2026, start main construction in March 2027 and target resident move-in by October 2029, according to the company release.

Against the KRW 113,200 market price, the average consensus target lies 55.5 percent above the stock. That gap reflects the market's focus on future overseas construction and nuclear opportunities, while the Q2 revenue decline keeps near-term execution in view.
