Profit Target Reached Early
Revenue for the first nine months reached VND 171,539 billion, up 54 percent from the same period of 2025. After-tax profit rose 104 percent to VND 23,746 billion, equal to 108 percent of Hoa Phat's full-year profit target of VND 22,000 billion. The group had also achieved 82 percent of its VND 210,000 billion revenue target.
Third-quarter revenue climbed 70 percent year over year to VND 62,669 billion, while after-tax profit increased 106 percent to VND 8,265 billion. Steel contributed 97 percent of revenue and 77 percent of profit during the first nine months, keeping the core business central to the earnings profile.
Steel Volumes Keep Rising
Hoa Phat produced 10.7 million tonnes of crude steel in the first nine months, 35 percent more than a year earlier. Sales of hot-rolled coil, construction steel, high-quality steel wire rod and billets reached 10.3 million tonnes, up 39 percent. Hot-rolled coil sales rose 59 percent to 5.47 million tonnes, accounting for more than half of the group's steel sales volume.
In the third quarter, crude steel output reached 3.7 million tonnes, while sales of the main steel products totaled 3.8 million tonnes. The company said hot-rolled coil represented the largest quarterly volume, exceeding 2 million tonnes.
Expansion Adds A Longer-Term Catalyst
Hoa Phat is accelerating construction of its Dung Quat Rail and Special Steel Plant, which is designed for annual capacity of 700,000 tonnes. The project was more than 80 percent complete at the time of the company announcement and is expected to supply rails from the second quarter of 2027 for infrastructure projects in Vietnam.
