- First-half 2026 net operating revenue reached KRW 305.8 billion versus KRW 225.5 billion a year earlier.

Hanwha Investment and Securities (KR7003530003) approved a capital plan worth up to KRW 900 billion on September 30, 2026, according to Chosunbiz. The move combines a KRW 500 billion third-party allotment with up to KRW 400 billion in hybrid capital securities and links the brokerage's expansion strategy to stronger capital resources.
Capital supports a wider mandate
Hanwha Asset Management and Hanwha Life Insurance were each set to invest KRW 250 billion in the equity increase. The deal covers 50 million common shares and 50 million convertible preferred shares, both priced at KRW 5,000 per share, while Hanwha Asset Management's stake is expected to rise from 46.0 percent to 46.7 percent, Chosunbiz reported.
The stated objective is entry into South Korea's comprehensive financial investment business, which would broaden the firm's corporate finance and prime brokerage capacity. The capital plan also supports digital asset initiatives and additional investment capacity in core businesses.
Three dates define the plan
On June 30, 2026, first-half net operating revenue stood at KRW 305.8 billion, up from KRW 225.5 billion in the same period of 2025, while net profit fell to KRW 55.7 billion from KRW 61.7 billion, according to Aju Press. On September 30, the board approved the KRW 900 billion plan. On October 8, the KRW 500 billion equity payment was scheduled, giving the financing program a concrete near-term milestone.
What does KRW 900 billion change?
The answer is capital scale rather than an immediate licensing result. Separate equity stood at KRW 2.2674 trillion at the end of June and was projected to reach KRW 3.1674 trillion if the equity increase and full hybrid issuance were reflected. However, the firm must maintain more than KRW 3 trillion for two consecutive fiscal year-ends before it can pursue the designation, and hybrid securities are excluded from that regulatory calculation, Aju Press reported.
