Hallenstein Glasson Holdings is approaching a key governance deadline as shareholders have until Wednesday, November 4, to nominate directors for the company's annual meeting. The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, December 9, in Christchurch, according to an NZX announcement published on October 20.
Nominations must include a short resume and written consent from the proposed director. Only shareholders entitled to attend and vote at the annual meeting may submit nominations, the company said.
Governance deadline follows strong results
The meeting timetable follows a strong fiscal 2026 performance. Hallenstein Glasson reported sales of NZD 563.0 million for the year, up 19.6 percent, while coverage by Newsroom described net profit growth of about 44 percent to approximately NZD 84 million. The publication cited analyst Paul Laxton Koraua of Forsyth Barr, who viewed the company as an outlier among New Zealand retailers.
The operating backdrop remains demanding for discretionary retailers, but Hallenstein Glasson has benefited from its value-focused fashion offer and supply-chain systems. Newsroom also highlighted the group's Australian growth runway and its disciplined approach to store expansion.
Fashion retail across two markets
Hallenstein Glasson Holdings is a New Zealand Stock Exchange-listed retailer of womenswear and menswear. Its Glassons and Hallenstein Brothers brands operate more than 130 stores across New Zealand and Australia, with 36 stores in Australia, according to the company website.
The group is more internationally exposed than New Zealand-focused peers such as Briscoes and The Warehouse Group, while its fast-fashion positioning gives it a different niche from outdoor apparel retailer Kathmandu. Newsroom described Hallenstein Glasson as a standout listed retailer as its Australian and New Zealand businesses both contributed to recent strength.
