Fortis Healthcare has completed the acquisition of Suguna Hospital in Bengaluru for approximately INR 277 crore, according to CNBC TV18. The transaction was completed on October 28, 2026, through International Hospital Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary, and was structured as a slump sale.

Acquisition adds expansion capacity

The deal includes Suguna Hospital's business operations, land and building. The facility, commissioned in 2006, has 110 beds and is located on Dr Rajkumar Road in Rajajinagar, north-west Bengaluru. Its capacity could rise to approximately 150 beds.

CNBC TV18 reported that Suguna Hospital generated approximately INR 50 crore in revenue in fiscal year 2026. Fortis plans to invest in medical infrastructure, clinical programmes and additional beds as it develops the facility.

Cluster strategy remains central

The acquisition follows Fortis Healthcare's purchase of People Tree Hospital in Yeshwanthpur in January 2026. Together with the company's existing Rajajinagar facility and People Tree Hospital, Suguna Hospital gives Fortis potential capacity of approximately 500 beds in the north-west Bengaluru corridor.

Fortis Managing Director and CEO Dr Ashutosh Raghuvanshi said the acquisition would take the company's operational bed capacity in Bengaluru to around 1,000, including facilities operated under management contracts. The company described the transaction as part of its strategy to build focused regional clusters.
