Flex agrees to USD 2.0 billion Axiom funding: what it means for Flex stock
Published on 10/07/2026 at 03:25 | Editorial responsibility: Rafael Müller, Editor-in-Chief AD HOC NEWSFlex Ltd. agreed on October 5, 2026, to sell USD 2.0 billion of convertible preferred stock in Axiom Solutions International, its Cloud and Power Infrastructure business, according to finanzen.ch. The transaction gives investors a new valuation marker for the planned separation, which Flex expects to complete in the first quarter of calendar 2027.
What the Axiom funding means
The preferred-stock investment values Axiom at an initial enterprise value of USD 37.5 billion, with General Catalyst leading the investment alongside Koch Equity Development and other investors, 24/7 Wall St. reports. Against Flex's USD 44.8 billion market capitalization on October 6, 2026, the Axiom valuation equals 83.71 percent, although enterprise value and market capitalization are different measures.
The security pays a 10 percent annual cash dividend before the separation. After the separation, the dividend is 6 percent in cash or 7 percent if paid in kind, subject to adjustments, while the proceeds will help fund part of Axiom's pending acquisition of EPC Power.
Revenue growth meets cash demands
Flex's operating picture adds a second dimension to the deal. In the quarter ended June 26, 2026, revenue reached USD 7.928 billion, up 20.60 percent from the comparable period, while net profit rose 48.40 percent to USD 285.0 million, according to Frontier.
Cash generation moved in the opposite direction. Operating cash flow fell to USD 276.0 million from USD 399.0 million in the comparable period, and free cash flow declined to USD 41.0 million from USD 268.0 million as capital spending and working capital absorbed cash. That contrast leaves the spin-off valuation dependent not only on Axiom's growth but also on Flex's ability to convert reported profit into cash.
