- Fidelity Bank is waiting for regulatory approval before publishing its audited half-year accounts.
- First-quarter gross earnings rose 37.9 percent year on year, while profit before tax was NGN 92.48 billion.
Fidelity Bank Plc is facing another delay in publishing its audited accounts for the six months ended June 30, 2026. The bank said the Nigerian Exchange has approved a further extension while it waits for outstanding regulatory approvals, according to Nairametrics in a report published on October 6, 2026.
Regulatory clearance remains pending
The relevant filing was signed by Company Secretary Ezinwa Unuigboje on October 5. Fidelity Bank had previously received permission to move the reporting deadline to September 30, but the half-year statements had still not been published when the latest extension was reported.
No new publication date was disclosed. The lender said the audited statements would be released after the required approvals are received. The closed trading window for directors, senior management and other insiders is also expected to remain in force until 24 hours after both the audited half-year accounts and the unaudited third-quarter statements have been filed.
Strong start, incomplete picture
The delay follows a strong first quarter. Nairametrics reported gross earnings of NGN 434.95 billion for the three months ended March 31, 2026, up 37.9 percent from the prior-year quarter. Interest income reached NGN 314.48 billion, while profit before tax stood at NGN 92.48 billion and net interest income at NGN 180.97 billion.
Fidelity Bank's investor-relations page also lists the first-quarter highlights, including customer deposits of NGN 7.4 trillion, net loans of NGN 4.7 trillion and total assets of NGN 11.4 trillion. For investors, the delayed half-year release matters because it should provide a fuller view of asset quality, capital strength and the earnings trend after the first quarter.
