CCL investment raises growth stakes
As MK reported on October 6, Doosan said it would invest KRW 970 billion over three years to strengthen high-end CCL production. The plan covers KRW 420 billion in South Korea and KRW 550 billion in China, with production lines scheduled to start operating in stages during the second half of 2028.
The capacity decision is aimed at materials used in AI accelerators, network switches and optical modules. Doosan's stock was trading at KRW 1,458,000 in the October 6 report, up 8.72 percent from the previous trading day, linking the expansion plan to a sharp single-session market reaction.
Q3 estimates move sharply higher
ATS View reports that Doosan generated KRW 5.59 trillion in Q2 2026 revenue, up 4.5 percent year over year, while operating profit reached KRW 488 billion and the operating margin was 8.7 percent. Q1 revenue was KRW 5.06 trillion, making the sequential increase KRW 530 billion.
For the Electro-Materials business, Edaily reported on October 1 that Meritz Securities projected Q3 revenue of KRW 756.7 billion, up 72.0 percent year over year, and operating profit of KRW 226.3 billion, up 117.8 percent. The estimates were raised 6.8 percent and 5.6 percent from the brokerage's previous forecasts, respectively.
Meritz maintained a Buy rating and a KRW 2.4 million target in the October 1 report. That target lies 64.8 percent above the October 7 price, leaving the valuation case dependent on the expected conversion of CCL capacity into earnings rather than on the Q2 revenue increase alone.
