- Third-quarter revenue fell 21 percent year over year, while operating profit declined 8.1 percent.
- Additional Shaheen Project costs weighed on quarterly earnings and pushed the period into a net loss.
- DL E&C is pursuing major housing, energy, small modular reactor and data-center opportunities.
DL E&C reported a weaker third quarter on October 30, 2026, as additional costs tied to the Shaheen Project reduced profitability. At the same time, the South Korean builder's operating profit for the first nine months exceeded its full-year 2025 result, according to The Herald Business.
Quarterly earnings under pressure
Consolidated third-quarter sales were 1.51 trillion Korean won, down 21 percent from a year earlier. Operating profit fell 8.1 percent to 107.3 billion Korean won, while the operating margin improved to 7.1 percent from 6.1 percent.
The company said the quarterly decline reflected additional costs from an extended construction schedule and accelerated work on the Shaheen petrochemical project. The period also turned to a net loss of 26.7 billion Korean won, highlighting the earnings sensitivity of large fixed-price construction projects.
Nine-month trend remains stronger
For the first three quarters, sales reached 5.03 trillion Korean won and operating profit 424.1 billion Korean won. New orders totaled 7.22 trillion Korean won, 31 percent above the year-earlier period, while the cumulative operating margin rose to 8.4 percent.
DL E&C is negotiating or bidding for several large housing projects, including Seongsu District 2 and Haan Jugong Complex 9. The company is also seeking work in North American energy infrastructure, small modular reactors and data centers. A contractor selection meeting for Seongsu District 2 is scheduled for November 21, 2026.
