ComfortDelGro stock reports higher revenue and weaker profit

ComfortDelGro stock stood at SGD 1.27 on the Singapore Exchange on September 23, 2026, up 0.79 percent on the session. The latest operating picture combines 5.7 percent revenue growth with a 14.3 percent decline in underlying profit, putting pressure on the transport group's earnings quality.
Revenue rises while profit falls
ComfortDelGro generated revenue of SGD 2,561.6 million in the first half of 2026, according to POEMS. The increase reached 5.7 percent year over year, but underlying profit attributable to shareholders fell 14.3 percent to SGD 84.8 million.
The contrast matters because revenue expansion did not translate into earnings growth. POEMS said the first-half revenue and underlying profit represented 46 percent and 44 percent of full-year expectations, respectively, while its FY2026 earnings estimate was reduced 7 percent to SGD 177 million.
Taxi operations remain the drag
The weakest operating line was taxi and private hire. EBIT in that segment fell 46 percent year over year to SGD 36.6 million in H1 2026, according to POEMS, making the segment the clearest counterweight to growth in public transport operations.
The numbers create a two-speed earnings profile. Public transport can lift the top line through higher activity and contract expansion, while taxi competition and operating costs determine how much of that growth reaches profit. For investors, the 14.3 percent underlying profit decline is therefore more informative than the 5.7 percent revenue increase alone.
Stock holds above yearly low
