China State Construction International stock faces a sharper earnings test after revenue fell to RMB 43.884 billion in the six months ended June 30, 2026. The margin response was more constructive: gross profit margin rose to 18.6 percent from 15.0 percent, according to The Globe and Mail.
Revenue falls as margins improve
Revenue declined 22.5 percent year over year, while profit attributable to shareholders dropped 17.7 percent to RMB 4.33 billion. Basic earnings per share fell 19.2 percent to RMB 0.82, creating a clear contrast between weaker construction volume and better profitability.
The improved margin is the central operating signal. According to Quartr, operating cash flow reached a net inflow of RMB 3.796 billion in H1 2026, while cash on hand stood at RMB 37.872 billion on June 30, 2026.
Segment quality becomes decisive
Mainland China revenue decreased 21.3 percent to RMB 23.1 billion, but segment profit declined only 2.5 percent to RMB 5.9 billion. The figures point to stronger profit conversion even as project recognition and investment activity reduced the top line, according to Futunn.
The board also declared an interim dividend of HKD 0.33 per share for the six months ended June 30, 2026. The payout ratio was 35.4 percent, up 4.3 percentage points from the comparable period, giving shareholders a concrete counterweight to the earnings decline.
Analyst target stays above market
The Globe and Mail lists a Buy rating and an HKD 13.00 price target for HK:3311. That target sits above the HKD 8.90 quote on September 30, 2026, while the 52-week range was HKD 6.92 to HKD 10.38. The spread reflects expectations for improved earnings quality rather than near-term revenue acceleration.
Cash flow supports the dividend
China State Construction International had a market capitalization of HKD 47.0 billion as of September 30, 2026. Its H1 numbers leave investors balancing a 22.5 percent revenue decline against an 18.6 percent gross margin, positive operating cash flow and a 35.4 percent payout ratio.
